The SP Series is a product range of high-quality Self Powered speaker systems. It is based on selected models from the passive K&F CA, Line and SW Series, which are all equipped with state-of-the-art innovative driver and power amplifier technology. These integrated active electronics run the system specific controller functions and include one or two highly efficient digital and fanless 1 kW class D power amplifiers. The complete electronic system weighs only 2.5 kg (or 4.5 kg, respectively).
In addition to the functions from the driver and power amplifier technology, all full-range systems in the SP Series also have a passive crossover which ideally complements the known merits of the K&F passive technology (all-pass filter, protection circuits) with the active technology. The full-range systems and the subwoofers of the SP Series are, thus, completely acoustically compatible to the corresponding passive models from the CA, Line, and SW Series.
Plug & Play - the active speakers are easy to set up: The full-range systems of the SP Series reproduce the complete frequency range. If necessary, SP subwoofers can additionally support the bass playback in parallel operations. The optional active high-pass filter determines the ideal crossover frequency for the subwoofer systems of the SP Series. All systems in the SP Series can be combined with one another using the integrated phase alignment.
A mixed set-up of passive and SP systems is enabled by the digital system controller K&F CD 44. For this use, the filter section of the SP models can be deactivated using a covered switch at the connecting terminal. The operating safety of the SP systems is maintained while doing so. Furthermore, the presets which are stored in the controller (cluster set-up = top low-cut, full-range use = bass boost) can also be used.
