First Commercial Installation of Jupiter's PixelNet™ Technology Powers State-of-the-Art Video Display Wall 10 Feet Off Ground

Revolutionary new way to capture, distribute, control and display digital and analog information found in any display environment used at new starlight casino and entertainment complex

INFOCOMM, Las Vegas, NV - June 18, 2008 Jupiter Systems (Booth #N6063), the industry leader in display wall processing for command and control applications, today announced the first commercial installation of PixelNet™, its revolutionary new way to capture, control and display digital and analog information on a Jupiter Fusion display wall, at the new Starlight Casino and entertainment complex in British Columbia, Canada.

A jewel in the crown of the innovative new casino is its eye-popping digital display wall above the bar -- rising 10 feet from the floor in the Starlight sports bar -- that can be seen from anywhere on the floor. The new digital display is managed by Jupiter’s new PixelNet technology which enables it to combine, size, scale and display video from ordinary, computer-generated and high-definition sources alongside digital signage, promotional materials and footage from popular sporting and entertainment events -- all while maintaining the full resolution of the original programming.

With the powerful PixelNet technology source material can be captured and delivered digitally across a high-speed network to multiple display walls without any loss of quality or decrease in performance. This allowed Starlight to install the display over the bar itself, where space was limited, while housing the audio/visual equipment in a more suitable location, a considerable distance away. Because PixelNet has been designed to use standard CAT 5 cabling it can carry the signal up to 100 meters before the signal degrades.

The new $100 million, 100,000 square foot casino requires 24 by 7 operation and equipment that is highly reliable, easy-to-use, maintain and repair.  Jupiter’s PixelNet system is hot swappable, hot-pluggable and fault tolerant.  A PixelNet network automatically configures in the field; every input node is visible to each output node and Fusion display wall processor the moment the node is plugged into PixelNet™. All PixelNet™ input sources can be displayed on any of the output devices: a freely scalable window on a Fusion display wall
processor or a single source can be displayed on an independent display connected to a

PixelNet output node. All of this power and flexibility is managed by Jupiter’s ControlPoint™ software, providing an intuitive, object-oriented, drag-and-drop interface to control and manage multiple inputs, outputs and display walls.

The powerful PixelNet technology meets all of these requirements and serves as the centerpiece of the casino’s overall AV system, allowing everything to be controlled from a single touch-screen. PixelNet also offers pre-programmed templates for instant recall and an easy transition to other input formats as they become available.

Only PixelNet could address these requirements while still providing an unparalleled audio/visual experience for casino patrons that would sit alongside its 600 slot machines, 54 gaming tables, poker room, private gaming areas, show lounge, and restaurant. The PixelNet powered display wall has quickly become the casino’s greatest attraction.
