The Addressable Control Module (ACM) provides the interface between a MediaMaster Server (MM-1000 or MM-2000) and a school’s infrared-controlled (IR) video sources. The ACM can communicate over any TCP/IP network, which allows a school complete freedom of choice in where to locate video sources. The ACM and the sources it controls can be in a completely different location than the server. Each ACM can control up to eight sources. Because the ACM is a standard Ethernet device, the number of ACMs in a system is effectively unlimited. The ACM is capable of learning IR commands from any remote control. Each IR-controlled device may have up to twenty-six unique commands learned. Additionally, IR command sets can be copied from one device to another, and to and from the server. This can greatly speed the installation of several like-kind sources.
